What is GDS plus?

Gds plus is a game asset editing, compositing and creation tool bursting with powerful features. Especially designed to help you easily take control of GDS game assets and beyond.

Tired of the limited flexibility of downloaded game assets? GDS plus gives you the power to easily modify and combine GDS+ assets with zero drawing skills and no previous knowledge of complicated design software such as Adobe photoshop or illustatrator. It's so simple to use! GDS plus takes complicated design tasks and reduces them down to simple button clicks and sliders. Giving you the ability to make game developer studio art assets uniquely yours! Further more the plus version is free to use without sign up or membership.

Whats's new in version 1.1

Version 1.1 introduces a modified cleaner more tied together interface and brand new features and functions.

• New add simple text component
• Version 1.1 introduces a brand new feature to GDS plus. You can now add simple text to your assets and designs.
• As with any GDS component, you can edit, duplicate, export to .png, and save to .gds.
• Note: as GDS+ is a browser app, it can't access your system font data. To provide access to font styling, there is a dropdown menu of the most commonly used fonts. If the font on the dropdown is not installed on your system, it won't work. There are also four Google fonts in the dropdown as well as the option for users to upload their own font files.
• Improved UI
• Cleaner interface with add component menu.
• Reformatted import component buttons, placing them in a foldable dedicated component import menu tabbed to the scene component palette.
• Moved z-Order action buttons to the top right tool area - z-order is hidden until components are selected.
• Moved flip horizontal and flip vertical action buttons to the top right tool area. Flip tool is hidden until components are selected.
• Cleaner component transform inspector.
• Improved Alignment options and cleaner align tool
• Cleaner alignment box. The alignment box remains hidden until needed. A single alignment box button will be visible when selecting components. Once you have components available in your selection, you can use the "a" hotkey to open align and distribute options or the alignment icon.
• Added horizontal and vertical distribution function. Now you can align components horizontally or vertically. The distribution will add an evenly spaced gap between components on the horizontal axis or the vertical axis.
• Added horizontal and vertical sequential alignment. Selected components will align in sequence according to the right and bottom edges respectively.
• Added "last selected" item to alignment control options. When choosing where to align components to, you can now select "align components with scene, align components to the first component selected," or "align components to the last item selected."
• Fixed dropdown select bug on Safari.
• Better component "quick export" functions.
• You can now send single selected components to a new scene.
• You can now export multiple selected components as a selection area or as a folder containing individual PNGs of each component.
• Added more hotkey actions and drag in files
• You can now drag .svg, .png, .gds, .jpg files from a folder into your scene. If you haven't created a scene yet, GDS plus will create one for you.
• key n: open create new scene dialog
  page up/down: cycle through current scenes
  escape: close and exit current scene (confirm request invoked)
  tab: cycle through components on stage
  tab + shift: cycle through components on stage and add to selection
  key u: unselect all
  ctrl + b: scene area to component bounds
  key t: add a text component
• Improved slicing capabilities
• There's still lots of room for improvement with the GDS slicing editor. For now, I've added two extra auto-slice functions and further improvements.
• You can now add slice data to individual components as well as the entire scene. Slice data is also maintained during your session and output to your save files.
• Better slice visualization on the scene.
• Auto 9-slice function: slice up UI panels and boxes.
• Auto 3-slice functions: slice buttons and meters into three parts.
• Minor UI improvements and bug fixes
• Changed the favicon to be different from the standard GDS favicon for better navigation with open tabs.
• Fixed bug with canvas color dropdown change, fixed batch export output display bug, fixed grid width/height mismatch bug.
• Addition to the standard library.
• Added the decal pack to the gds library, If you need to add a sticker or pattern to a component just bring in the decals pack, pick the one you need and delete the rest. Improvements to this coming soon.
